Hi Kamakshi!

I would be happy to help, but I am a bit concerned about the aspect of privacy, especially since names of individuals and companies are requested. Would the data be annonimized?

Personally, I have no problem with my name/company appearing publically, but I feel uncomfortable mentioning the names of others when I am not sure if they would like me to do so... Could you please say something more about your strategy regarding this issue?

Thank you,

PS: next time you post, please don´t forget to mark "allow comments" so that members can ask questions, give feeback, etc :)

Cheers,

Noaa

Hi Noaa,

Thanks for your comment. I understand your concerns on privacy.

The data will be anonymized. As you may see, the names and e-mail are not obligatory to fill in (neither yours nor the person you met).

I did make the company name obligatory to see if the affiliation makes a difference in how people connect at networking events, or the reasons they cite for connecting. This analysis will be on a more abstract level (e.g. to map the different networking strategies/reasons of people from companies and academic researchers).

I am particularly interested in the reasons people cite for (possible) future connecting, and how they see this connecting influence their work.

If you decide to give your name or the name of the other person, please be assured that they will be dealt with in a confidential way. The data will be anonymized.

I hope this addresses your concerns. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers,

Kamakshi

P.S.: thanks for the tip on comments. I'll mark it next time for sure :)
