"Error", the most specific keyword and challenge of TEL research

Exploring what makes so specific the TEL research area, a colleague suggested: "error". First, a surprise, then... an evidence! In several computer-science research the challenge is to design and implement error-proof environments or systems, most of the HCI research intend to be error-resistant. On the contrary, TEL research must allow to develop error-friendly environments: environments in which error is welcome because it allows to learn and to teach or train. The environments we design must not avoid the situation where learners make errors, or function in manner independent of them. They must be capable of noticing them and providing feedback which allows to make progress in the construction of knowledge and development of competence. It's why Vanda Luengo identified that epistemic feedback is a key concept of TEL design, possibly the dual concept of "error".
Eventually, is "error" a TEL landmark?

The late Erica Melis did a lot of work on 'learning from erroneous examples'. Good stuff!
