The expression "Didactical engineering" was introduced in mathematics education by French researchers in the beginning of the eighties, in the context of the development of the theory of didactical situations. The distinctive character of this methodology is the way it manages to have two centres (without being elliptic): the student and the knowledge, and to consider them from a situated perspective. Considering the TEL environment as a "milieu for learning" (in an ecological sense, as it were), "Didactical engineering" opens new views on the analysis of learning and teaching phenomena. |
