The progress of VR technology and simulations opens the possibility of a breakthrough in the design of learning environment targeting implicit knowledge. Apprenticeship and practice are the standard approaches to learn such knowledge, hence the use of simulations, virtual reality or augmented reality environments. Up to now the technology focussed on the fidelity of such environments, and feedback which are close to rendering the type of feedback that a real environment would provide. But this is not enough in a learning environment which must facilitate and accelerate learning. A different type of feedback is needed which is defined not at the level of the physical interaction, but essentially at the level of the knowledge at stake: an epistemic feedback!
