Matjaž Kljun wins STELLAR award at UMAP 2011

Ph.D. student Matjaž Kljun from Lancaster University (UK) has won the Stellar Personalized TEL Award for his paper 'Differences on How People Organize and Think About Personal Information', presented at the 19th International Conference on User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization, UMAP 2011, in Girona, Spain.

This winner of this award is given free participation at the ECTEL 2011 Conference and the ECTEL 2011 Doctoral Consortium.

In his solid, cross-disciplinary DC paper, Kljun presents empirical findings that show that there is a difference on how information is organized on computers and how it is thought of in users' heads. Personal Information Management is an area that becomes increasingly important in technology-enhanced learning. Adaptation and personalization is a natural direction for future work.

The Personalized TEL Award is initiated by the Stellar Network of Excellence in Technology-Enhanced Learning. Stellar aims to unify the diverse research community in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) in Europe.
