Grand Challenges
The scientific work of STELLAR is conceptualised within a 'Grand Challenge' Framework, organised around the three themes, Connecting Learners, Orchestrating Learning and Contextualising Learning. This framework provides structure for our thinking towards developing 'Grand Challenge Problems'. These are problems that foster scientific and technological innovation to solve key problems in technology enhanced learning. STELLAR’s work is to develop or state the Problems, but solving them falls outside the remit of STELLAR. However, the Grand Challenge Problems will contribute to the mid-term strategic TEL research agenda and, while formulating them is led by workpackage 1, the whole TEL community will be invited to contribute.
Meeting of Minds
The European TEL landscape is a fragmented patchwork of strategic thinking. Targeting Visionaries: from learning executives, policy makers to senior scientists the ‘Meeting of Minds’ represents a think tank instrument that will provide the highest-level Grand Challenge impact and engage in futures scenario building. Summit meetings of these policy level thinkers will hear about the last year’s research achievements and be involved in directing the next year’s research activity – to ensure that we both speak to and influence; as well as listen to and reflect, the strategic debate at this vital level.
Reports about the state-of-the-art of TEL and STELLAR
The deliverables of the STELLAR project are available for everyone and give you an insight about the activities and goals of the Network of Excellence. There is an extensive list of publications focusing especially on the research side of STELLAR.
TEL Research Notes
The purpose of the Folio of TEL Research Notes is to disseminate the academic scientific work within TEL research and to engage the TEL research community in discussions related to this work. This Folio, comprised of the TEL Research Notes and the discussion will be dynamic and changing over time as discussions develop.
TEL Thesaurus
The TEL Thesaurus is aimed at creating an intellectual platform to support the conceptual and theoretical integration of TEL research. The platform will have three parts, with the latter parts building on the former. The TEL Thesaurus establishes a list of the key words currently used across TEL research.
TEL Reader
The TEL Reader is intended to provide a compendium of classic papers in the field. As such, it will be instrumental in shaping the research domain. The TEL Reader will include most of the papers that will help a beginning researcher to get an in-depth overview of the field of Technology Enhanced Learning.
