What are publication feeds?
Publication feeds are RSS Feeds designed for the exchange and display of publication metadata. They are largely based on the BuRST format by Peter Mika. For an in-depth description please refer to our paper.
What can I do with publication feeds?
Since publication feeds are RSS feeds, you can do anything with them that you can do with a regular RSS feeds. This means you can add publication feeds to your favorite news reader or aggregator. In STELLAR, we have developed several widgets that make use of the additional metadata contained in the feeds. You can add a publication feed to a group for example (see the tutorial) or visualize them in a faceted browsing view (see here).
Where do I find publication feeds?
Several institutions, and a few conferences and journals already have a publication feed (see here for an overview). The STELLAR Open Archive provides publication feeds. You can get a publication feed for every search result by clicking on the icon shown below.
How can I make my own publication feed?
If you do have a BibTex file which you would like to convert to a publication feed you can use the BibTex converter located here. If you want to make your own publication feed from a database, you can find a more detailed instructions and a specification on this page.
